The Emergence of the New Normal

The world as we know it is changing. Leading a business has become a completely different ball game.
  • Industry clock speed is increasing
  • We are dealing with a global pandemic
  • Global and local policies are and will be changing
  • The 4th industrial revolution (with the Internet of Things, Robotics, AI and Digital printing) will be changing our earning - and business models
  • A Great reset (Building Back Better) is being orchestrated over all industries - pushing: Green, Digital, Upskilling and reskilling and increased equality
  • The markets are digitizing and opening up and competition is increasing
  • Employees are overwhelmed and disengaging
  • Pressures on leadership are high and demand Super-Human qualities
The privately owned Medium Sized Businesses in Europe, the engine of these economies, employing more than 50% of the country working population, are the hardest hit by the pandemic. Based on our interactions with these businesses over the past months, we are seeing that less than 25% is doing well; 75% are experiencing difficulties and 62% saw their profitability decrease. All businesses indicate that they are not prepared for sustainable growth in this changing market environment. The challenges the Medium Sized Enterprise is facing are:
  • Adapting to Covid19 related policies and to emerging technological developments (The 4th industrial Revolution);
  • The readiness of their middle management and the availability of own qualified/ trained talent to drive their Business and Technology transformation.

How is the market going to develop

We are still reeling from the effects of the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on our local and global economies. In the aftermath of such severe global crisis, it is best to focus on what we do know and what we can control. From there we can take the necessary steps to get businesses out of this mess, and help them not only survive but thrive in this absurd new reality.

So what is it that we know for sure? - The IMF and WHO will be pursuing a global vaccination solution for the COVID-19 pandemic as key solution for economic recovery.
- The UN will be pushing the Sustainable Development Goals agreed in 2015.
- The WEF will push the Great Reset (Build Back Better) of the world, driven by the 4th Industrial Revolution.
These movements will shape the coming ten years. Business owners and leaders have two options; either step in or become obsolete.

What does this mean for your business
